There are many options when it comes to choosing a new entrance door. Steel, wood, fiberglass and even vinyl. Any one of the coices may be suitable depending upon a number of factors such as where the door is located, do you have kids that are probably going to hit the door with a baseball, how much maintenance are you willing to invest and the typically overriding factor, the look of the door.

Adding sidelites for example, will require a larger rought opening than a door without, so we'll need to make sure the framing is done properly and that any electrical is handled. Sometimes a switch needs to be relocated to make room for a new door.
Another critical point is to make sure the door is flashed properly. That is, to make sure the sill is sealed to the floor properly and that appropriate flashing is utilised to prevent water from getting under the sill, or behind any siding or trim.
